Demurrage is charged by the owner of the container. It is rent of the container from the period it is staying at the port. Normally some charge free day are allowed. Demurrage is usually counted from the day after container has arrived to port till the day the container leaves the port. It is normally charged from the company to whom the container has been released. If container is released to Steveco, the owner of the container will charge us. We will the pass it to our customer.

Detention means also rent of the container, but counted after the container has left the port till it returns back empty. Normally some charge free days are allowed. It is normally charged from the company to whom the container has been released. If container has been released to Steveco, the owner of the container will charge us. Field hire is charged when container is stored on our container yard.

HS code means The Harmonized System Codes, which is an international method of classifying products. Customs officials around the world use this system to determine the duties, taxes and regulations that apply to the product. 

Storage means storage hire, charged if goods are stored in our (or our subcontractor's) warehouses or other storage areas.

Reefer is a refrigerated container used in intermodal freight transport for transportation of temperature sensitive cargo.
